
The whisky is crafted from six-row Indian barley and distilled at the company’s Rampur facility in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Radico Khaitan Ltd has launched the Rampur 1943 Virasat Indian Single Malt on Monday, adding a new expression to its premium whisky portfolio. The single malt is priced between ₹3,500 and ₹4,500 per bottle and will initially be available in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi before a nationwide rollout.
The whisky is crafted from six-row Indian barley and distilled at the company’s Rampur facility in the foothills of the Himalayas. The spirit undergoes maturation in American Bourbon Barrels, followed by finishing in Ruby Port Pipes. The distillery’s climate, ranging from 45°C in summer to 2°C in winter, accelerates the maturation process.
Abhishek Khaitan, Managing Director of Radico Khaitan, said the launch represents the distillery’s heritage since 1943 and aims to offer whisky enthusiasts an authentic Indian single malt experience. Amar Sinha, Chief Operating Officer, said the product was designed to make Indian single malts accessible to a broader consumer base.
Radico Khaitan is among India’s largest manufacturers of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and operates distilleries in Rampur, Sitapur, and Aurangabad. The company’s portfolio includes Rampur Indian Single Malt Whiskies, Magic Moments Vodka, Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin, and 8PM Whisky. It exports to over 100 countries and is a major supplier to the Canteen Stores Department.
The shares of Radico Khaitan Ltd were trading at ₹3,287.80,up by ₹14.70 or 0.45 per cent on the NSE today at 12.35 pm.
